Finally a little time for MY Bronco! Tire rack has been off since November, and engine is transplanted from another member and friend. Was Efi and also had a bad cam. I had gotten as far as changing cam and getting it moving. Ended up messing with carb and changing acc pump cam out and it’s finally working to a level I’m happy with. So…naturally, a drive and tacos were in order. View attachment 930783

Just a small project completed tonight. one of the things that has been bugging me since I put my bronco together is the center console. I bought one of these locking center consoles. and it has been nice to have for storing stuff when I park with just the bikini top on it, but there were a few things I didn't like about it. it sat too far back to be comfortable, so I put a couple pieces of square tubing under it so I could move it forward toward the transmission tunnel a bit more and that helped a lot. it made it a more comfortable height for driving also. I also never liked the cup holders, and I just didn't really like how it looked. all very minor issues for sure. also my steering wheel, with the way I laid out my dash, this steering wheel was the best I could find for seeing my gauges, but it didn't match anything else in my bronco. I solved all my minor gripes today by installing this new custom sepelle mahogany center console. it matches my steering wheel, and with the black top it ties the interior together better, and I think it looks and feels like it is supposed to be there. it sits further forward so it is comfortable for driving, and the cupholders work better for me. all in all I think its a nice improvement.

The weather cooled down enough so the AC unit in the garage could keep it around 75 degrees, and I was able to get back to finishing the underside. Seam sealing under the bronco was messy, hot, and basically a huge pain in the ass. Some previous fixes had lots of seam sealer applied to cover shortcuts, had to remove all of that and fix the metal. After the seam sealing, I sprayed on some KBS Blacktop satin finish. The back half is done thankfully. Cleaning and painting under and around the rear wheel wells was definitely the worst part though, the driver side being the clear winner on difficulty.

The front half should be much easier, no surface rust so cleaning and paint prep should go quickly. I already welded up the seams from the driver and passenger floor pan replacements so there should be minimal seam sealing left. I will be so nice to be done under there soon and be able to work on it standing up!

Those fox bodies are becoming a lot more popular these days. A little spit and polish on it getting it going again you could probably sell it and with the profit buy a new crate Engine and transmission

Finished up the underside finally! So nice to be done with laying on my back scraping, grinding, and swearing. Quick tip, don't drop seam sealer on your creeper, then lay your head on it. That was fun.
Next up is the engine bay, I need to pick a color soon so I can get the engine/transmission figured out and installed. The bronco was originally Wimbledon white and we will be painting it green. I like Boxwood, but wife likes a light Olive color so I am looking for colors along those lines. I am also thinking about painting the engine bay Wimbledon white, but I know most prefer body color in the engine bay. Thought it might go well with the white top, grill, dash and door cards.
