I like mine in the center like that, just a tip you may want to put a stop on it for when it swings out. had mine hit the side of the fender before:-[Got my tire rack built. Put a mini door striker latch in it and it closes nice. Used the left top bumper bolt hole for the striker location. The bearing pin pivots almost to easy, might have to torque the nut pretty tight. Will be painting the rack body color. Ken

Yeah, I can see that happening. I am still trying to figure out a few details like that. That thing swings almost to easy. I wanted it so the FORD on the tailgate was visible. Thanks, Ken
Ironic, now being a retired electrician, I don't want to think of anything electrical, and my new historic plates in Tucson are made of solid Arizona copper. I thought I was DONE with copper! They look ok though, and best of all, no more dialing the motor back and forth for Portland's emission tests every two years.
