I used to say I'd pay double to get a part that will last compared to buying something cheap but warrantied and having to replace it... well now I pay almost double for a lot of parts compared to 5 yrs ago and the quality is still ^%#*%$&^Q@+.

Name brand lifters, name brand cam with less than 10K miles. Yes it was broken in properly at 2-2.2K rpm, yes it had break in oil, yes it had cam lube on assembly, yes the engine was primed. Yes I've done this with dozens of large sbf strokers.

3rd pic shows the clone/copy slash whatever of the used rollers and the new Morels I had sitting on my shelf for another large sbf stroker. hmmm... hope the others were a copy that were sold as the "real thing" and my new ones are good.

Also notice on that 3rd pic how "thin" one of the rollers is on the used lifter. It was ground done to half it's orginal thickness. No noise or sign of anything wrong until the lifter couldn't make up the difference in zero lash then it was LOUD.

Videos don't show on the site anymore for many but you can here it anyway. (seems to work well on phones and some laptops only)

The little bit I know about engine ‘innards’ is enough to know that camshafts aren’t supposed to look like that in a new build, as well as the wear on lifter bodies.

Man, I always thought the roller lifters and cams were bullet proof.....guess everything is going south quality wise. Sorry you have this going on!

:(

Like the Boeing & AirBus or McDonnelDouglas.with the titanium that's not titanium. They bought the stuff from China...

Also tore the nasty stinky— —whatever their name for insulation is— —crap out of the D/S firewall area. Will go back with something but haven’t decided what. Still a long way from that. Lol

On another note, I’m pretty sure the gas pedal ain’t supposed move around like this. I’m thinking the rotted firewall underneath is the problem. More welding and patching.

Got it out of the garage after 4 new ball joints, upgraded heim joint steering linkage. Finally got to install my WH 4340 chromoly front axle shafts with them snazzy CTM u-joints. I also had to replace the passenger side knuckle, and the power brake booster while I was in there. And went ahead and put on some TBP locking hubs.

Thanks and yes WAY better than the PO built stuff. I got a used complete BP kit from a fellow Bronco guy. I believe it was on a full size Bronco, since the rods were too long, so I cut them shorter and tapped the threads. I was a few shim pieces short, but Bullet Proof folks hooked me up.

Still had to get the pitman arm and steering damper connected. Grade 9 bolts are tough.
