I got it move finally. It was stuck, but a bigger bar helped get it to move. But for some reason the recommended belt, K060825, is not quite long enough.
Today is start up day! I’m 0-1 so far... seems like it’s getting fuel. Had a burp or 2 out of the carb initially, but nothing anymore after a couple more trys. If I’m 180 off on the distributor... would it not start?
Fired up! Timing was off. Everything sounded great initially.. till the power steering pump started spewing. I’ve got the attached fitting and it looks like the o-ring is chewed up a bit. Maybe I damaged it on install? Now I’m debating getting another o-ring or trying a different fitting with a metal washer. I thought it was strange that it wasn’t just a small leak, but spitting everywhere. I thought for a second maybe it required an additional o-ring around the top, but nowhere does it suggest it...
Bolt out, buttoned up, but no power steering? Could it be air? Do I need to bleed the system any particular way?
Wheels off the ground, engine off, cycle the wheels back and forth 10 times, press the brakes 10 times. Check the level in the pump. Repeat 10 more cycle of each, check level. Once this is done start it up (wheels still off the ground) and cycle it back and forth a few times and press the brakes a few times. Put it back on the ground and check the level. You should be good now. Maybe a little more will bleed out as a you drive but you should be good to go.
Check your belt tension since you had the front of the engine all apart.
