HELP - Obama War Zone Visit

I find it off-putting when service members want to be thanked all the time. Especially some guy pulling duty as a watch officer in some UOC. Did he join the military to get a pat on the back? I remember being in Baghdad last year when McCain visited the Shorja Market for a huge photo...

anyone in so cal building a 302?

Heck, I'd gladly take them off your hands since mine's being rebuilt in the coming months. Where in SoCal are you?

    Motorcraft Ignition Module

I'm replacing my ignition module and would prefer to use the Motorcraft replacement. Problem is that I can't find one, not even on the Motorcraft website. Anyone know where to find one? I did find an AC Delco module which may have to do as I'm not going to use a crappy Duralast replacement.

    Made it to SoCal

Hey guys! After a four day blast across country I've made it to Twentynine Palms. I've wanted to live out here since I first moved here in 1998 and the Marine Corps finally decided to make it happen. So far I've seen a two EBs and I'm amazed at all the old trucks (Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc.) still...

Early Bronco Prerunner Fenders mass buy

I am a fan of the WCB fenders. I stopped by WCB last month and got the shop tour from Dusty. I was very impressed with their fenders. Well made, durable and have an excellent fit. And they look cool as hell.

Thinking about getting a Bronco tattoo, what do y'all think?

All tattoos will eventually look like crap. I say consider that first. I agree with the expression of art but keep in mind that just as the things you drew and admired at 13 seem silly and juvenile now, so will most of the things you currently find visually interesting appear when you are 60. I...

    Best all around sander?

An angle grinder will not do nearly what this sander will. I have the exact DA sander in that link and it is the bomb. I've had it for three years and now and used it heavily with no issues. You can also put a buffing pad on it and use it to buff paint. If you do not have the ability to use...

    How much paint?

A gallon of paint will be more than enough to paint your exterior and then some. I'm assuming you've yet to mix it with reducer. This may very well double what the amount depending on what the mixing is.

    Happy Birthday to all Marines!

Happy birthday Marines. We're looking good for 232 years old. Semper Fi!

    Cummins 5.9? Anyone?

Yeah, way too big I think. It'd fit under the hood of my 78 Bronco nicely though.

    Rattle Can Primer

I tried this on a few extra panels that I had and it turned out pretty good. Here's the links that got it started: http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1 and http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2655425&page=0&fpart=50&vc=1

Original '79 Bronco Manual Tilt Column

I have two. They are somewhat uncommon (but not rare) and can normally be bought for $75-$150 and sometimes much more if someone gets crazy on Ebay.

    Introducing myself!

Jboomer, welcome to the club! Sounds like you've got some good plans for the Bronco. I live right down the road from you so let me know if you want to meet up some time. I'm currently restoring a '78 Bronco and driving my '74 in the meantime so I'm available to lend a hand some time.

    Got My Truck Running

I bought this thing two years ago after getting back from Iraq. My plan was that I would finish my '78 and then get to work on the EB but another Iraq deployment got in the way. So I left the 78 in my garage and put the EB in storage for a year. Well, last week I pushed the EB out of the storage...

    Cage mounted Machine gun

If I had that set up, I'd use it at least three times/day. I'm guessing it's a .30 weapon.

    Great job Mike! Looks nice.

    Oil Life

A quality synthetic like Mobil 1 can easily go for 8000 miles (or roughly 3/4 year) when used in a daily driver so I see no reason why it would not last for a full year given the low mileage you put on your truck. If there is any doubt along the way just get an oil analysis done at the six...

Price check on '78 Bronco parts?

Al, you rock man! I forgot about that. PM me your address, I've got something to send you. Actually two things. Ian

Price check on '78 Bronco parts?

For sliding glass windows, I'd ask for $100 obo. For a rust free tailgate, I'd ask no less than $200, maybe more if it's complete. Where's this guy live? I'm in the market for sliders.

What 351 was in 78 bronco

If it is displacing 351 cid it is most likely a 351M. I have seen a 351C that was transplanted in a 2nd gen Bronco and have heard discussion of someone swapping in a 351W but these latter two engines were never offered in the 2nd gens. Only the 351M and 400. The 351W wasn't available until 1982.
