Being on a trip and having 2 sensors fail and most of what you do all week is hope your engine can handle & still run on AFR #'s that you shouldn't be running and waiting for parts to fly in on overnight air... and hoping you're still running when the trips over in another 10 days is worth upgrading.. probably equivalent to a months depreciation on buying a new car or truck and most people do that. It's their DD and this is mine... the Term X is fine, just all the parts that tell it what to do.

WoooHooo... great hike up to a fire lookout and 250 miles the past 2 days. FUN couple days as the afternoons are about 76-79deg F and the colors are great.

Here are some pics of today's trip. Hiked up to the old fire lookout at 5300ft. Steeeep trail, doesn't look it in the pics of course... just like climbing a steep one in our Broncos... pics are deceiving...

In the pic on the left side of the structures timbers the concrete support pad is within a foot of the edge. Two steps from that edge when I was peering down it looked like your next step would be appr. 75ft down... it's a pretty good angle down. Unlike the Sierra Buttes rock, this one isn't close to being flat. This basalt stuff has cracks all over it but it's been here a while and looks like it's gonna stay a while! No trees around to catch it on fire.

The ground wire for I am guessing the lightening that probably hits it is about 1 1/2" in diameter! :)

I drove mine (Bronco related) lol into town to p/u Subway sandwiches & then we went skiing...not the best pic but almost glass water & 80 deg at 5pm. Snow forecast in the hills behind the house tomorrow night! Brrrrr...

(edit) The first 2 pics were tonight, the third pic (last summer) was taken 300 yds from the 2nd pic- just a year apart.

Oven Roasted Turkey sub/meal of the day? 🙂 I've skied behind a vehicle on snow but it wasn't with the Jobe, it was a couple Heads. 😵‍💫 Can you beam me up, I'd love to do both the same day. 🤣

Remember Dan Wheeler who was writing up ariticles here 12 yrs back??? The two of us were up snow bashing in my favorite area and his buddy had brought ski's and Dan towed him behind his Bronco in about 2ft of fresh snow on about 4 ft of base. It was sunny out so we could have gone to the river too!!! We need to do this! :)
Update: I have the pic somewhere.... I'll find it!

Cleaning out the big stuff in the barn. Wow,should have done this a decade ago. lol I have no interest in a stock EB anymore for my personal use so might as well get rid of stuff I've had for 10-50 yrs right?

I'm going to post in the classifieds but wanted to at least list a couple things here...
Brand new unopened SS Wild Horses radiator air block off kit (forces air thru radiator)
Spare (looks like front) D20 output shaft, lots of misc D20 internal parts and yokes, shifter forks, etc
Custom wound coil springs for EB, used. New front coils for '78 F150
Several sets of Exploder injector rails w/injectors.
EFI dizzy
couple EFi misc parts
Tons more but that stuff will only go thru classifieds to keep all this legit.

Hanging on to all this stuff for 2 weeks then it's going in the dumpster. I have no use for stock EFI stuff so somebody could use this stuff for next to nothing but willing to help out for cheeeep for CB list guys.

That's one cool bridge there. And the creek is a bit bigger than what we call creeks around here. The trail would be a really fun one to take. But unfortunately, I don't think my bicycling abilities are up to that much. LOL Really great shot with the reflection of the bridge.

EDIT:Opps....wrong bridge, thought it was Cabin Creek Bridge which carries the trail. 😵‍💫

So on my quest to have redundant parts for everything I might possibly need... and I'm not doing well at that, but I do need a 14 bolt axle, that is 37 3/8" min.

This one is 36 and approximately 7/8". But I have that funky metric, weird, housing. That even pirate doesn't show exists (lucky me) and it takes a slightly longer axle.

LMK if you have one thanks

Thanks both! :)

I did some looking to see how much torque OEM & these axles would handle and there's so many variables without knowing race teams or others with firsthand experience that run stupid amounts of torque & HP thru them - - what they can really handle.

6r80 parts brand recommendations. Doing some research, appreciate anybody that's done a few of these to recommend some HD parts.

Prevention.

I've had a "whine" for 7 yrs. Still whines even after a new pump 3 yrs ago when I had the engine out.

Not much louder even after all these miles but I'm looking at tearing it down to find the whine. Don't want the whine to stop (& us either) some place where it might take a full day to hike out).

If it was just an around town rig, or like what's so common now a days when most Broncos get driven an average of once a month or if we only drove it with another group like wheeling in Moab or the Con or wherever - you always have another rig nearby. Quite often we don't... very often actually.

The other thing is these converter clutches don't like hp & tq. Without symptoms yrs ago I ate one up & just figuring the same amount of time on this one. Got one more all rebuilt but I'll sell it with the trans & an adapter & an extra Quick 6 if someone needs a package deal.
I'm going to go with a dual disc for longevity to handle the hp & tq

Thanks. I've dealt with them before yrs ago and PBH at the time was totally bashing US Shift for inferior products and on and on. Talking trash about how their shift software didn't work etc. Didn't sit well with me as I've dealt with Karl directly and have now used various US Shift Optishift, Quick4 & Quick6 and valve body parts for over 15 yrs w/o any issues...

PBH parts seem to be reliable from what I've heard. I have been looking at Exedy clutch parts, upgraded shafts, etc. Thanks for the input.
