Ok it seems like I said the phrase "EFI" too loudly next to it. It stated stumbling badly after I left work, I thought it was running low so I filled it up. It was running better leaving the station but about 2 miles on the highway it went south. I could barely keep it running to limp home and the carb "Qjet" was spewing gas from all places conceivable. Any guesses? I think it might be stuck floats. Maybe it's time to pull it up to the shop and start working on the swap.

Ugggh, seriously check with Darrell Lewis who did my TBI conversion, I think he would treat ya good, & you'd be happy...

Kerry runs that set up too man...

Think about winter time "the better reliability" ;)

I talked it over with the wife and I'm going to park it for a bit and start working on EFI, I have all the parts so if the techs at work can figure out the wiring harness I should be running for less than 100 bucks.

So the ole girl has been on DD duty for over a month now. She has done great despite no heater but it's time to park it and start to resume work on it. I may be heading to CA for a few months and want to take the bronco with me so I need to get some major work done. EFI, floor boards, interior comforts.

Ok, one small issue. Brakes need to move, I'll have to swap it to astro boost with the angled bracket in order to clear the intake plenum.

Relays will mount by the passenger shock hoop on top of the fender and the MSD box will be removed from the pass inside firewall and the ECU will go there.

Leaked pics from inside the super secret EFI research lab:

From the builder:

I added a relay for the O2 sensor heater circuit. I didn't want it running through your ignition switch along with your coil and TFI.
It's more load than I like, and didn't want it to strand you if bashed an o2 sensor on a rock or something.

When I was at the boneyard looking for the o2 plugs I found a perfect under-dash harness to use. It fits the plug next to the PCM. After re-working those 3 exsisting plugs down to one, it has everything you need and even stuff you may want later.

It has the power lead that will turn everything on. Plus it has, clutch switch, brake switch, tach signal, oil pressure, water temp, and VSS. You know, incase you decide to go Dakota digital or add cruise control, lol.
I'l leave the non-essential stuff out of the under dash loom for now, but should you want to add any of that you'd just need to add a pin and a wire.

I also repaired the cut wires to your MAF and TFI. After removing the tape I found that they were just twisted together. Some of them were even starting to corode. So I soldered them and added marine heat shrink. All of your other connections were soldered as well except for the crimp on spades at the fuse box.
With the exception of that under dash harness and the 2 VSS wires, everything still matches the factory diagrams as well. So, I hope you like it, shit would be a bitch to change now, lol.

Yeah man, I am blown away by the amazing tranformation that he made to that thing.

As for the computer, once I get it all hooked up and running he will burn me a two position chip, one stock tune with all of the error codes removed from smog ect. and maybe 86 the clutch switch and one performance tune all for 200 bucks.

Who is the builder? I put together my own harness, but to be honest, I am a bit affraid to try it for fear that I may have done something wrong and will burn something up.

It's a guy from pirate, he isn't a vendor or anything, He was just giving me tons of advice about how to strip the harness. Then he showed me an explorer harness that he stripped to run an explorer computer on a rig and I asked him to do mine. I'm not going to say how much it was but it was cheaper than anyone else.

Sounds good, hook us up!;)

PM returned, Folks PM me for his email or PM Whitetrash303 on Pirate. He took about two weeks and was stupid cheap for the custom work I received. Even to go as far as wanting photos of where components like fuel and CPU would be so the harness would fit like a glove.

I have my accumilator mounted in the same place. It works well so long as it doesn't get much above 90deg out.
If it does the canister gets way hot and vapor lock happens . Last year it took us 3 hrs to get out of Vegas.

Your fenders are cut out more than more than mine , but if it gets really hot out , carry cold water to pour on it . It'll help for a minute;D

I gotta move mine soon, another darn thing on my list%)

I'm a Marine and we know how to use the whole evaporation water trick, That is why there is a cloth sock on the filter. Hopefully getting it wet will do some good. I will find out this summer I suppose, It's HOT in Texoma, Iraq and Afghan was hotter but not by much.

Where are you going to move yours?

I'm going to try just dropping it down lower out of the engine bay. I'm running full width Bronco axles so it shouldn't get in the way of the tires . I'm also going to cut up and reshape the inner fenders , hopefully keeping most of the heat away from the canister.

I'll dig up a sock or two , just in case ;D
