Great seeing everyone again. Had to bug out early after the broken U-joint caused my front left wheel to intermittantly lock up. Tried, but could not get up the iced hill near tower road. Had to get my trailer back out to the emerg exit and then winch myself on the trailer, as it wanted to just walk off the trailer sideways.

More Pics and Video!

Turned out to be a great day. The roads were a bit icy getting there so we had a few less people show up than originally signed up. But we did have 12 Broncos that braved it! The snow was about perfect. It had a crunchy top layer from the freezing rain, about 3-4 inches of powdery snow below that and then a layer of solid ice on the bottom. Traction was good as long as you had enough momemtum to stay in the snow layer - but get down to the ice and it was slip-n-slide! ;D

We actually had very little breakage but did have to stop at lunch to fix a broken u-joint. Of course OX got bored and had to try what he thought was a marked trail and thus provided the entertainment while the u-joint was being fixed. Here's his first extraction viewed from the other side -

Here is Chris crossing back across the ditch -

Here is OX's second extraction -

And here is Bronco Dave's extraction after helping out OX -

Many thanks to Bill Moore (mtfit) for guiding us most of the day. After OX broke and left the group, a smaller group went back out to hit a couple of blue trails while we still had some time left. Steve Engle volunteered to guide even though he had never been to Rausch Creek before. The trails are marked very well and Steve was able to find a couple of fun trails to finish off the day.

Here is Bronco Dave coming down the back side of a little hill we went over -

This was a fun ride -

All in all a great time - cold at times - but fun. Thanks again to all who made it out. The snow really adds another dimension to wheeling!

Some more pics -

This mean your cooking food? It's the quickest way to get this group together!:p

Seriously Bill, Just post up on CB and the MEB list, you may get a few guys. I know I'd like to go more.

Bill - Sounds great. I can't make it every month, but I'd try to make it when I could. Like Chris said, pick a date and post it!

It really wasn't too bad if you had a top and doors and at working heater! Bill just had a bikini top and one didn't have a windshield. They DID get cold!

more pics?

Here's a couple more.

First off thanks for organizing the run, it was a great time! I msy have lost a bit of my hearing due to my 11 year old daughter and her friend screeming with glea from the back seat. I would be up for a monthly ride as well, can't seem to get enough. Thanks again

Hey guys first I would like to say thanx for the great time. Only thing that could have made it better would have been heat. As for the monthly ride i'm in as long as its not to far away or if I can get my friend to tow me out.
