Finally got back at it after a wife induced hiatus. ...and the fact that my garage now has a temp heat source.

I was very unhappy with the way the doors were lining up and even though I thought my measurements were spot on, it just wasn't happening.

So I took it all apart down to the outer rockers and started over. My understanding when I started this project was that all of the OEM parts I ordered were supposed to fit right in. Little did I know back then. :-[

For example, you would expect for 215 bucks the holes in your dash support to line up to the windshield frame. %) I will figure out the fix on that one later. Also the door gap is a little wider on the bottom along the outer rocker than I like but I just may have to live with this one. It simply amazes me how much things get thrown out of whack when they 1/8 to 1/4 inch off. But now the door shuts unimpeded with a nice thick "kerchunk". :)

I also installed the windshield and riveted it to the stainless steel hinge. That was the easiest thing I did all night.

That maybe so, but the quality won't be there. :O) You got the MAD skills. Mine are just a little upset.

looks good! Just wondering is there a gasket between the windshield frame hinge and the body? I cant remember it has been so long since I have taken mine apart.

On my other EB the gasket was laid in the hinge and the hinge closed in on it. I had to go out and double check, but that's the way it came from the factory. Kind of hard to weld through a gasket, I would imagine. ;)

There is a gasket laid down in the track. It goes in hinge and hinge closes in on it. At least that's way it came from the factory, as you can see on red 71 who I stole the windshield frame from. I had to go out and check to make sure I installed it with the gap for the gasket in the right position. I am not sure I did that right or if it even matters. The frame will push down and secure to the top but it rests high. I will see how much it settles later.

Thanks. I am one of the lucky ones that have a bolt on frame. No welds required ;D

I'm at work right now (Shhhh!) I am on my super revved up new computer for video editing and for some reason, the pictures won't load up to the website via my contributor status. Had to link via my dropbox account. And I want you all to know how serious I am about my windshield frames! ;)

I have been doing alot of sanding/bodywork and re-aligning. Not really noteworthy stuff, but still plugging along.

So Tasker comes down my way and drops off a couple of metal fenders and he takes the 'glass fenders and grill I was trying to get to work back to the B.O.C.C.I. It was nice talking to him and his friend Mark. The wife came out to say hello and they were showing some pics on their phones of Marks amazing collection of hotrods that literally brought her to tears. (Reminded her of her dad working in his shop breathing new life into old cars. He passed away last year.) I digress, but it was great to talk Broncos with somebody older then 11. :)

I went straight to work on the fenders. got one about 90 percent of one done and got started on straightening out the metal on the second. Thinking about calling in sick to work tomorrow to finish the job. The metal fenders make such a huge difference and are lining up perfect. Thanks again Randy!

Yep,worked out for both of us.:)

I got my carpet for the Bronco in the other day and laid it out on the floor. Love the form fit, color, but was disappointed with the fit on the PS wheel well. Asked Tasker to take a look and give his opinion. Well approximately 15 seconds later he spotted the problem. I had fitted on ninety degrees off and backwards. So basically the it was on sideways. %) Sometimes you just need a second pair of eyes.

GREAT hanging out and talking Bronco, Mark says he has a rash now though. ;D as far as making Linda cry, we have that affect on most people.... Coming along great, you should be proud as it's gonna be really cool when you get the "doggie sweater" paint job done. Keep after it and only a call away when you need some inspiration!
(thanks for the stuff too!)

Hey Randy, I'm thinking more of a mauve/redheart motif, like this.

(Come on, even the dog in the pic knows how ridiculous it looks.)
