And hiding under that cover, here's the finished product after installing the cleaned up control box, the restored free spool knob, some new hardware and a brand new decal.

Migs, with regard to your frame repair, are you concerned with replacing metal and not putting a “sleeve” or reinforcements at the areas of higher stress (shock and spring mounts)? I have a similar project and have to replace a good portion of metal from the rear cross member back… I’m concerned with structural weakness. In theory if your welds are penetrated shouldn’t the frame be as sturdy?
Sorry, I haven't checked in on this thread in a while. On this particular smaller repair I'm not concerned, especially when you consider that everything was still holding in place despite all the rust and rot (and tasker is pretty hard on equiptment) 😄 If it were much larger areas of rust and rot or no good sections of good strong parent material then I would approach things differently. Every situation's different.

Sorry, I don't remember the exact brand now, but it was some form of cast iron grey color. and I topped it with some clear.

Migs what other “products” do you have available? I already have your spring cups and shackles.
Yeah, just my coil cups, shackles and rear shock mounts are listed in the vendor section, but I do make some other random widgets and doo-dads from time to time.

Alright, so tasker came by last week with another parts drop and things started to get rolling again. We changed direction with the doors so I hung one up quickly just to see how it looks.

And, while in the mood to see how things look and since there were a few extra parts laying around.... 😁

Next came cutting and fitting a roll bar together out of his old one and some parts from a newer one. Made new foot plates and had to sleeve and extend the upper end of the rear down tubes a few inches. More to do but it's tacked together now. I also had the long tedious task of positioning the body in the correct place. Remember... this glass tub has nowhere near the same dimensions underneath as a stock steel body so I had to play around with and assortment of "spacers" at the body mount points to get it at the right height and angle front to rear while making sure it clears everything. Now that I have that set I can build some cross members to go in place of the spacers and also tie into the roll bar foot plates.
