I've been running a single 80's F-150 rail mounted HP pump near my fuel source (stock tank or cell) without a single issue. I've been vertical, wide open throttle and never had a starvation issue - run a simple Fram inline filter before the pump - stupid simple, cheap and at every single auto parts store.

I have been running the bronco with my new pump setup and i havent had any problems. A couple weeks ago i took it to the meb ride on big rubbers land and it worked perfect without any issues. We were out there for hours crawling in low 1st gear and it didnt get hot at all. I was glad to have the efi.

What flares are you running? Looks great!

My flares are wild horses silverback flares, they do a realy good job keeping the mud from flinging around and covering everything. Im running 33x 12.50x15 with 4" backspacing

Fwiw- i just picked up that spectre maf adapter. It seems to be a few mm smaller in diameter than the explorer maf tube. No biggie unless you are running high rpm, but something to be noted. Thx for the lead.

I know some of you are doing these efi swaps and are looking for cam position sensor/synchronizer for the 351w. I just happened to see these today. I'm just now learning about this swap for the early bronco so i'm not sure about the fit. The price is up there also. Here's the link. http://www.pricemotorsport.com/html/body_camshaft_synchronizer.html Not sure if this link worked or not. Might have to type it in. Sorry

Just use Ford parts and save a bunch of money. http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2597731&postcount=222

Thanks for the link! I have heard of Price making them before but was never able to find them myself.

I prefer the Junkyard 3.8 sensor and collar myself. I'm cheap and am in boneyards often anyway.

But when you consider their price VS. a new FoMoCo sensor and what the typical machinist would likely charge, it's probably close to the same cost for new parts (assuming they aren't using used 3.8 cores).

I noticed you used a plumbing tee where the ECT sensor (or in your case temp guage) and heater core supply tube goes, just curious if you are still running that and how was the clearance with the coil packs and anything else?

efi details

check out pg 4 for the coil pack mount fab details. I actualy have a t on each side of the engine. The drivers side has a coolant sensor for the efi and a sensor for the electric fan. The passengers side has a port for the heater hose and a mechanical temp gauge port. The coil bracket is a tight fit and it took multiple times trimming it to fit but it turned out well. Here are some pics now, it hasnt really changed. So far so good. Hope this helps.

I am about to FINALLY start my swap. After all these months, is there anything you would have changed or done differently?

Curious what you did about plug wires. I see two variations online. One for cast iron exhaust and the other for tubular exhaust.

I know we are all running headers on our rigs but that may mean squat with regard to how they were designed for the Explorer. What variant did you use?

Hmmm that's a good question, I honestly cant say for sure, I don't remember what they were for ill have to look at my receipts.

I do think they were for cast iron manifolds because they had the deep plug ends. I did have to swap out some of the ends so they didn't melt on the headers. The ones I didn't change I reused the explorer heat sleaves to protect them.
