I thought you'd like that, especially after the motor build last minute completion last year.

What are you running for full hydro steering?

Yeah- learned my lesson with chomping off more than I can chew. The motor worked out- wasnt flawless at first, but made it to the SC. Not going to happen this year- I will be there in the '75 again though.

I have the PSC hydro setup off of my Dodge Ram crawler that I am parting out.

Its a complete system with cooler, reservoir, pump, cylinder and box. I bought it barely used for $600 a few years ago and never looked back!! It was a steal!!

Put the rig at ride height to set up the lower link mount and subframe. Threw on my 39.5 spare- without weight it sits the same height as my 44s. The 44s have about 1.5" less backspace and are beadlocks so are wider with a wider tire. I will never stay dry in this thing like i did with my full size crawler...

Subframe will be 24" off the ground with the bottom of the door at 34". Cage height is right at 82"... And will be trouble fitting in the garage... I will have a lot of cutting to do on the front fenders too. Whatever I end up doing for a bumper will stick out past the front of the tires, but not by much.

Got some work done today. I had purchased some frame link brackets, but didn't like the way they fit. I started hacking at some material I had to put together a subframe to double as link mount and protection for the drivetrain. The link mounts are set at 10 degrees to match the lower axle link mounts.

I also ordered a rear Artec truss and link brackets and picked up a NIB RCI2191 fuel cell with walbro pickups. If the wife had any idea how much I have tied up in this thing...

Anyway- pic- think this is overkill? 2x2x.25 and all 1/4 plate

I have some 1.75 .120 wall and .188 wall DOM, but I thought it would be good use of the 2x2. They feel like they are about 25lbs each, so it's not ridiculous weight.

The snorkeler has become a mud bogger... Can't wait to see that mud pit full of water- then you will see!

I know y'all are probably tired of looking at poser pics on jackstands, but the 39" tire was driving me nuts and I had to see how the 44 fit... And this is veering toward big gay truck land!! But that Fitting cuz I bought the truck from big gay truck land (Eastern NC). It's going to border on 90" wide just like my full size crawler.... Will barely fit thru the garage door- tall OR wide!!

You sure that's wide enough? You might need some wheel spacers!

It's entirely too wide... But I have the tires/wheels off my other rig and will run them. Ideally I would like some 43SXs on 17x9 wheels, but I have too many other expenses due on this thing at the moment. It does look a little ridiculous...

holy crap thats like a cartoon come to life!

honestly with that much tire you could damn near keep your front axle in the stock location then just comp cut your rear fenders and do all your stretching in the back. i imagine you could keep most of your grille that way. is this thought to late for this build todd :p

It was a foregone conclusion that most of the fender and grille corners would have to go. I really put the tire on, so I could start cutting- or at least get an idea of where I wanted to cut. Keeping the axle in the stock location would get me cutting into the firewall, which creates even more issues.

I think it's too wide, but even with smaller tires, narrower wheels, I was going to hack into the grille with moving the front forward 6".

Comparing the 39 to the 44... what a difference!! The 44s are on 15x10 beadlocks with 2 3/4BS and the 39s are on 16x10 4" BS. The 39s hit the high steer arm, so that setup wouldn't work.
