Stop picking nits Howard, and spill the beans!
I’m sure El Kabong has at least 11 reliable friends that can vouch for the veracity of those separate yeses. :)

And speaking of old news… I hope you end up ditching those headlights before somebody shoots you in beautiful West, Michigan.
Or at least test them on your large barn wall or garage door before you take them out into public.
To answer your actual question, yes, you will need the relay harness for that kind of wattage.
Literally double what the original headlights were, and the headlight switches were designed for. If you don’t have the best switch around, you’ll probably get less than 10 minutes of use out of it before it starts flipping its internal circuit breaker.
With that amount of wattage, the relay harness is an absolute must.

But even then, that’s far too bright for use, even in rural areas. At some point you have to have a low beam for oncoming traffic and a 90 W low beam, where 55 W is the legal limit for good reason, coupled with a housing that might spew light all over the place, is a recipe for very angry deer (and neighbors)!
Cheap and stylish both have their places. Sometimes even together.
But as we found many times over the years, that rarely works with headlights.

Just saying…

See that plug there? View attachment 913074
That's the backside of the plug that plugs into the H4 headlights. See how it's kinda exposed? It will be behind the light and under the hood, BUT? Shouldn't it be sealed up somehow?
Yes.
They should be, in pretty much any area of the country, but in your area especially, they should be sealed like nobody’s business.
And yes, they are plated, possibly to very high standards. So they should last for quite a while. But what’s quite a while in a lifetime?
I would do whatever possible to seal them up. Including possibly even getting new connectors, if they are readily available and you haven’t already spliced in the wires.
If you have, then the simplest course of action is to either fill the cavities with silicone and put dielectric grease in the contact sockets. Or, simply fill all the cavities with dielectric grease.
Anything to keep the weather out.

Yes, they're all nodding in agreement.

Well, Heck Paul, now ya tell me! Maybe I'll only drive during daylight hours, jk. I guess I knew what I don't know in post #363. Worst case scenario, I'll switch out the search lights if it proves necessary. Thanks for the heads-up, Paul, better late than never, I reckon. Btw, were all the yeses for the headlight queries, or was one regarding the story and secret query?

Well, good, howmi gonna do that? Plan A, get a Mustang Jr. shift bezel, or, Plan B, refurbish the old, correct shift bezel, or Plan C, Howard-ize something. I'm thinkin', I'm thinkin'.....

I thought, I thought..... and went with Plan A, ordered bezel fro EBuy

Hey Howard, you still got all your fingers? I believe I counted 8 yays. I would say that Dirt's post number 382 was an affirmation of telling the story by the "spilling the beans" statement. Oh, and yes to the tale.

Gosh-a-rootie, Ken, you could well be right! Thanks for the help, I never was real good at cipherin'. Guess that puts the count at 9, 3 to go and counting. One more yes vote and I'll have take my shoes off.
