Yesterday my driver's door started acting up - wouldn't latch when attempting to close. Of course this happen while I was towing something... LMC (local to me) is outta stock, so I headed to the hardware store and bent up a generic spring. Worked out well.

In order to make clearance for my new cage I moved my manual choke from the left side of the dash to the right. I took out my "emergency flasher light" and reinstalled the choke in its position. Then I was finally able to set my cage into position. I think the cage is going to look pretty good in it. I am planning on going white with the cage. I havent decided on paint or powder coat for the cage. any suggestions?

Finally installed the D44. It is nice to have the bronco back on 4 wheels. Hopefully no bronco lean, the arms were perfectly level when torqued down. After I put the steering on, I will most likely move on to the engine/trans, I want to get it driving before I do the rest of the body work. I also need to finish up the frame in the engine compartment.

New trackbar bushings and sleeves today. Guess I did ok to get almost 40k on them. Upper sleeve shows some wear but the bolt was perfect and the holes were not egged out. Nice to get an uncomplicated repair once in awhile………

I loaded up the chassis for a trip to the body shop. They wanted the foundation to best square up the body before going to paint.

Yes it is a abomination...and a strap party. Lol

So while doing my pre trip trailer checks and services (for my upcoming 3.5 hour one way road trip) to take the son in laws rig to the Bronco doctor for a front axle swap....

I find ONE bad trailer tire that has obviously started spitting chunks of rubber a while back. And then I get to closely looking at the other 3 while putting grease in the bearing buddies. When did the other 3 get so weather checked? SO....... 4 new trailer tires later, I got the Bronco loaded.

Usually a chain and ratchet boomer guy, but I am trying to go lighter, easier, quicker with the soft straps. YES I need way shorter axle straps and shorter rear strap/ratchet set up, so I can go with a straight pull set up.

Ha I can't be perfect all the time, so pick on me later about it ok. Macs and a direct hook set up work great on the front. And the Bronco is on "the spot" on the trailer, so NO I can not go fwd on the trailer anymore.

Well yesterday I finally hauled the son in laws 76 bronco crawler about 3.5 hours (one way drive) up the interstate to David AKA Spare Parts shop to get some work done to it. So in a few weeks he is going to take the old (bad swapped in by the PO) 70's high boy truck low pinion front axel out and put a 79 Bronco axle under it.

And work out all the transfer of the normal 8 lug (but now 5 lug rotors) duel piston brakes calipers, high steer arm (on the passenger side) along with swapping over all the hydro assist parts.

Why am I not doing it, because I have my own 2 bronco to work on and Dave is the MAN when it comes to fab work like this. I also had another awesome tour of the shop and his WAY COOL projects, like his son Bronco, and a little Ranger with a V8 swap along with F250 SD axles.

Thanks again David.
