Bench Bleeding you M/C

there is no magic way not to make a mess, but to save time, try bleeding the brakes where the lines connect to the master cyl. just take it slow. like, pump twice, and bleed. this way you wont have to chase bubbles through the brake warning switch, and all 4 cylinders.

    Gages - Electric or Mechanical
copper is liable to fatigue and break even faster than the nylon, and glycerine filled guages solve the jumping around problem.

    Running hot in the cold.

I have also seen water pumps which had a little too much clearance between the impeller and body. too much clearance will allow the pump to cavitate at the lower rpms.

    Drivetrain Q's (kinda long)

I would write down all my casting numbers and take the load to the machine shop, and tell them to build you a short block. There is something to be said for experience, and a reputable machine shop will have tons. Let their experience work for you. Trust me the $500 or so you think you will...

    Speedi sleeves

I have used these things before and had success. Just be sure to use some sealing type locktite(green I think) otherwise when the grease gets good and warm it will weep under the sleeve and make a hell of a mess on the inside of your drum.

Stainless Steel Inverted Flare Nuts HELP!

I would not use stainless because #1 it is a dissimilar metal and it will actually corrode faster when screwed into the steel bung, and #2 the stainless is practically a one time use fitting due to its malleability(yes it is hard as a muther but it deforms easily). I have used aluminum fittings...

    Duff tubular radius arms

Is anyone running the Duff stage 3 tubular radius arms?
I've heard all the Duff bashing in other spring/suspension posts, but these appear to be really quality units. I plan to do my suspension lift this coming spring, and am trying to get a parts list together. Any opinions????

    SUGGESTIONS

check out an early 70's j**p wagoneer. If memory serves, the roof line was real similar, and the width should be pretty close. Even if it is a little wide, I think they were an aluminum foil with stainless brackets and it was about 3.5 to 4.5 inches wide. Thats a great idea.

    C4 skips 2nd sometimes

upon further description, i think we are making this all too complicated. 2 questions.
#1 Is the cam original, or is it of longer duration?
#2 Is the vacuum modulator of original type, or adjustable?

with a longer duration camshaft, you may not be pulling enough vacuum to...

    C-4 Leaks oil

There is no fluid pressure on these parts, so if you need a quick fix, remove the nut, clean with brake cleaner, and put a big dab of silicone on the adj. screw before you put the nut back on and torque it down.

My bronco sounds like a rollercoaster

As a mechanic for many years, people used this description a lot, and it usually was a bad pinion bearing. If a busted roller will make a rythmic clunking sound because when a roller breaks it usually takes a chunk out of the race. The drive shaft is easy to check. Remove it and move each...

Where does the neutral safety switch hook up?

As with anything there are trade offs. I have my safety switch bypassed(scotch locked together) because the last thing I want to do while wheeling is have to fumble with the doggone shifter, get it to neutral, start the truck, and find a gear again, all while holding on to your butt with both...

Bronco glovebox doors a bad idea on ebay
All I had to show was a sellers affidavit(proving that I actually bought the thing). And to clarify, in Texas, the state does not attempt to contact the pervious owner, they leave that up to the person trying to register the vehicle. oh yeah, the whole process took a couple of weeks, and...
