Has anyone used the explorer steering column when then use the drivetrain? Im in the middle of swapping the 5.0 and 4r70w from a 97 mountaineer, and was wondering if anyone had used this column.

Nvrstuk, I have a 97 mountaineer that I purchased that im going to use the transmission from. It was manufactured 5/1997. How do I determine if I have the analog or digital shift sensor? Haven't pulled the tranny yet.

Did we ever decide who is organizing this buy?

Has anyone checked to see if people on the mustang or even *cough cough* chevy forums would be interested. The controller does some of the gm trannies too so we might be able to get more this way.... Btw I can pay now, but spending $50 less would be nice.... :)

i bought one of these sets. Its not in yet, but I have it laid over, and it seems to fit alright. Gonna be a few months before I have them put in. The groves in the sheet metal arent nearly as deep as the factory stamping if thats of any importance...

can you put me on the list? Im with the person who said to wait a little until we can get a decent number of people for a larger discount unless someone is in a hurry to get their rig driving.

btw, if you have questions about part numbers or how the axle parts fit together, dana/spicer has the service manual and the catalog on their website in pdf for free. That way you can go into the parts store knowing what you need instead of those guys giving you the deer-in-the-headlights look...

looks like it should be a spicer part number 32589. Looks like the used it in all the Dana 44 Ford front axles with a part time transfer case from 67-78. Should be about a dollar and a half. If you want you can call 559-784-5138 and we can order it for you if we dont have it in stock, but...

In the statement above you are assuming that it is a car that came with an autolite carb right? Cuz fords used holleys and carters stock too... Anyways, since you have so many years in this hobby i assume you know that most motorcraft parts are reboxed, and produced by these "repro"...

Remember that NOS doesn't mean OE. NOS means New-Old Stock. They can be any manufacturer, they are just old stock, but are still new parts. Do you mean NOS OE or just NOS?

It kinda sucks nowadays with the brake companies. Raybestos Bendix and Wagner are all outsourced. They have their imported line which is a lower grade a steel and maybe not exactly stock when it comes to fin designs in the rotors and such, but even their higher quality lines aren't produced here...
