Power Steering - what could have gone wrong?

Does the power steering pump turn the correct direction with the accessories? Just a thought.

    soft top replacement

After calling more, it looks like I need to buy a new one with the HW. A local shop said it will cost way more to try and rebuild mine. So that's that.

    soft top replacement

I've called Tom's and Graveyard, and they don't just have the skin, they only sell the kits. I don't know if the HW is different. My soft top came with the bronco 17 years ago.

    soft top replacement

This should be an easy one. After 10+ years of not having the soft top on and a complete rebuild of my 75, I dug up the old soft top so I could use it this winter. The soft top is in sad shape, the vinyl is cracked, the windows are no longer see through, and worst of all; it just won't fit on...

    Starting my 3-link Build

I don’t want to be negative, and hope that I’m wrong; but I would suspect that a 3 link with leaf springs would cause some binding issues. I suspect that you’ll have to make the link attachments close to the leaf pivot point or the radius of the spring movement would bind with the radius of the...

    Should I be worried?

Most procedures recommend that you take out the inner springs when breaking in the cam. I thought it was unnecessary and destroyed a cam. I won’t do that again. Education always costs.

    Help with re-ring kit.

In an effort to freshen up my engine after an oil issue, I have been installing a re-ring kit. Everything looks familiar accept one o-ring/gasket that I can’t seem to remember where it goes. If anyone knows I’d like the answer. The o-ring/gasket is round and about 2.5” in diameter. It has...

Dana 44 pinion bearing race spun-any recommendations?

What an odd analysis. I've not heard of spinning the pinion race. Do you know if it's the outer or inner race? It doesn't matter; I'd just change out the bearings and drive on.

    Coefficient of drag

Another option to determine the amount of hp that is required to push it through the air is to have it chassis dinoed then use a Gtech like device that determines hp from acceleration. The difference between the two would be the power required to push it through the air. I would suspect that...

    Anybody running an HEI dizzy?

I run an HEI distributer. I like it, but I think I had to reroute my heater lines.

    Help....i cant fig this out

I don’t know the history of your rig; running lean will make it run hot, having the spark too advanced will make it run hot. Does it overheat at highway speeds, or at idle? Then there are the obvious issues, clogged radiator, poor water pump.

Pictures of My New Luber - Complete With Crazy Story!

I would be concerned about the wheels. I had an old Cherokee in high school and the driver’s side rear wheel came off. It then fell off a number of times, once in a tunnel at 70 mph. Turned out the lug holes were not exactly round and caused the nuts to loosen up. Eventually the wheel fell...

    Stolen truck - Pics added

First I sympathize with your loss, I wish there was something I could do to help. I pray that nothing like that happens to me, and I pray that I don’t find the SOB, because I would end up going to jail. However this brings me to a question; what does a thief do with it? Is there that much...

    Gove Box Modification

I took the glove box door off and put a net up in its place.

    Just Need to Vent

I’m with you Duke. I was a mechanic through college to give me some $$. I’m now a mechanical engineer. I worked at two different garages and one dealership over three years. I was one of two guys that I worked with who had not been to jail, then I found out that the other guy got pinched a...

    Ford to lay off!!!

Odd It’s an interesting thing to read this thread. There don’t seem to be any real arguments at all. Usually when addressing such political issues like big corporations and unions there’s normally a split in opinions. I find it reassuring to think that the other bronco owners think...

    merry cristmass from junkyard

When I got my 435 it was from an automatic, and I just looked around some more and found a collar from a different, manual, one and swapped it at the yard.

Maintenance on those bodies is outrageous, I’ll stick with the bronco, it’s a lot cheaper

    rust proofing doors

keep door rust out. I find the best way to preserve the doors is to keep them in the basement with a dehumidifier. 8-)
