Have any of you tried out the newer LED headlights from either Ebay or Amazon? Happy with them?

I am looking for something brighter than a standard bulb with descent cutoff for the low beam.

Not really looking for a halo or colors.

I did see some older posts where some models needed to have the headlight bucket modified.

I’ve been really happy with these, hopefully this works, I fail sometimes lol
Amazon LED

I’ve asked friends that I have followed and met on coming if they thought they were too bright and offensive and they have all said no.

I have the trucklites and the Leds that WH sells on their site. Happy with both.

I'm running the insanely expensive ones from ICON. Love those things.

Are all of the options mentioned plug and play or do you have to adjust the buckets?

Even a plug-n-play light "might" need some tweaking of the adjusters to get it right to the way you like it. Even just changing the original lights for old-school replacement lights dictated the occasional adjustment.
It's hit or miss in that regard.

So to me, being "plug and play" simply means they bolt in and you don't have to cut the bucket, or make any other modifications to the area.

X3 on the Grotes. I did a comparison with them on my build thread. If you want I can try to find the posts for you.

I did NOT want alien looking lights, I wanted them to look as stock as possible but have an excellent light pattern. I about 5 different lights in my Bronco and the Grotes excelled.

Don't compare lights up against a wall or garage door. Huge mistake.

Then you really should look at the Holley lights.

I am quite happy with the Grotes and didn't the Holley's just get released last fall?

Also, the Holleys are twice the price!

I think the Holley were released even more recent than that. They are new. Have not seen them in person yet.
But they are by far the most traditional looking lights out there.

The nice thing about Grote is that they are easily available (Advanced Auto). Also, I saw a few weeks ago that they were on sale for ~$120 (each) on Amazon.

I should have been clearer. My question was more about if the buckets had to be modified. Thanks for the clarification. Some of the earlier options that I have looked at required cutting of the buckets, Glad to see that the industry has recognized the need for better lights in a form that can be used a replacement. Thanks to the vendors that have been pushing for more products.

I bought the Tom's Off-road -

H4 LED Headlight Conversion w/Heavy Duty Wiring Harness - Part Number: 1473L

and it's okay. The brights are not noticeably different than the low beam. The harness is kinda clunky and cheap. Not terrible but just too much slack in the wires/harness. This said, the color is good and the brightness is far better than stock. Best part IMO is that they don't look jeep. I keep my '66 simple and clean and these fit that look.
