Cman, all, Black painted rims seem to be the most common for the early Bajas that didn't get chrome rims. Seen white too however. And...to make it even more convoluted, I know of at least 3 Bajas that got blue rims to match the roof.

oui,,,,...looking around....will have to find preresto shots, but here it is after I restored it. Wheels were always blue...I stripped them and they only had black primer under them. Was original paint when it first surfaced.

TOO COOL!! all new info to me. I was under the impression the white was the runner up to the chrome on most common. so chrome, then black, then white...and BLUE! thats neat. hmmmm.. remind me Andrew, if we DONT have original picture s of our truck, or are fortunate like Andy to have original conditions and window stickers etc..we really have no idea what color of rims they came with, right? Its not on the marti report...etc...

Top is ready for the truck. Carb needs rebuilding so I loaded up the truck to take it back to the shop. A little overkill with the 24 ft trailer. LOL

So never any argent rims? Trying to figure out what color my 71 stelies should be--they are argent right now.

I'm sure I haven't seen as many Bajas as some of you others, but until now I'd never seen one with Black wheels.
Aluminum? Yes.
White? You bet.
Blue? Definitely a couple, but not many.
Black? Not yet (until Andy's pics that is)

Unless I've seen some over at Andrew's place and just didn't remember. That would be a distinct possibility, considering how much fun all the other stuff is to look at over there!

Top is done except for replacing glass and trim. Test fit on another Baja! (not mine)

I decided to get the windshield frame painted before replacing the dash pad and putting the top back on.
