Also, my wife found these cool gift bags at Target.

Installed quick disconnect front sway bars and relocated my shock reservoirs. Drivers side shock leaked a bunch of fluid out of a fitting when I was messing with it, so couldn't test drive it yet.

I swapped in an msd pro billet distributor that is a little shorter than the previous distributor I had, and with no vacuum advance. and I locked it out and had sniper control the timing. after the usual screwups, followed by figuring out what I screwed up, followed by fixing my screw up, I am up and running, and this thing is a beast!! it is running awesome, it idles perfect, revs to 5000 faster than you can shake a stick. it cruises along at low rpm perfectly. in 5th gear I am running about 2250 rpm at 60 mph so I am hoping as the sniper learns the fuel mileage will improve. I have been running way to rich and using a lot of fuel. but I took it for a nice long drive today around town, and down the highway and on some backcountry roads. lots of different driving scenarios and it seems to be working great;D;D so I took some pictures at a nice bridge I like.

one of the biggest issues I have had is running low rpm and lugging the engine it would tend to sputter, and pop and backfire. this video was cruising slow in 3rd. no popping, no sputtering just smooth.

Sorry for off topic but....

Hey mustanggarage, how do you like those hood latches. I will be installing a fiberglass hood shortly, and have been looking at different types. That style has caught my eye.

What brand are yours, do they work well, and most important, did you retain any of the factory latch?

I like them a lot. They are aero catch I got from summit but I was a little nervous about the aluminum rods do I upgraded to steel that I got from Pegasus racing
With my hood i can use the stock latch system but I chose not to. I eliminated all of it.

Got in the hubcaps I won off ebay, they need a little work but for $105 I can't complain.

Thanks for the feedback. Might be the way forward for me as well.

I bought a 70 that has been used and abused for years in the woods of east Alabama to pull trees. The owner had cut up the fenders and quarters pretty bad, none of the seats are correct, rust everywhere, and 10 hole wheels with 35s. Plan is to go back original on the exterior with royal maroon paint, white top, and steel wheels with the hubcaps and 30" tires, maybe a 1" body lift. Hope to start on it in early 21, have to finish my dads 66 mustang first.

Tom's Bronco day today. Installed family bikini top and wiper cover. Then took it for a drive by the beach when I saw blue lights in the rear view. Pulled over by the local PD, he just wanted to look at the Bronco. His dad had one and wanted to look it over. He gave me a "get out of ticket" card for my troubles!

Where did you get the locking latch?

ditto......

As they say, built not bought.

So that locking latch is an original latch, 3/4" hole drilled in handle, made slice in back of housing with cut off disk, tried in a cam lock from online, 7/8" long, then sent parts out to be powder coated, (not the cam lock, it came black).

Reassembled and forgot to put in the tailgate gasket, UGH! Glad you guys like it. I bought a stainless steel locking tail gate latch but did not like the finish nor shine. Kinda pitted. So I went with this.

Let me know if you need more pics. Make sure you center the cam lock so that the retaining ring will seat all the way down against the handle. I may epoxy glue it to the handle.
