Timing...

Yeah I bumped it up some yesterday and it seems to be doing better. It even runs when in gear. The vacuum is good, no leaks that I detect. I think it just needed more advance to keep it running. The Comp Cam I have in there likes gas... Thanks for the tips.

    Timing...

Cool thanks. I will have to play with it and see, but right now the truck goes into gear and just dies. The carb is getting enough fuel so I think it might be the timing.

    Front Shock Mounts

I use the Duff hoops. However, I would suggest you think about whether you will have extended radius arms someday. If you do, you probably will want to run one shock or both back on the arm mounts rather than one on the front C bracket thing. Just my 2 cents because I am there now and I have...

    Timing...

What do you guys suggest for a 302, MSD billet distributor (no box), and a Quadra Jet? I am at 10 BTDC now. Thanks.

I know I can limit the MSD with the springs, how do measure though at that high of RPM?

    Carb tuning in So Cal?

Well I actually got it running and drove it with the carb rebuilder's help. Chuck did help me the other night but I just don't have the tools to get real precise. But in a matter of 10 minutes we had the thing up and running and driving. It still needs some fine tuning now but it is getting...

    Carb tuning in So Cal?

Anyone know of a dependable, honest shop in Southern California to tune my new Q Jet. I just can't seem to get it dialed in and am running low on spare time right now to play with it. Thanks

    Quadrajet ?

They are from an 80's truck. I just put one on, still trying to get it running right but they seem like a good carb.

    Cardboard Headliner Replacement

Spray it with that speckled paint... looks good. My cardboard just droops and looks like crap

    Steering play

I think I will put my new radius arms on first, improve the caster and see how it drives. I can't afford a new steering box right now and leaving it alone sounds good to me.

Different approach to engine compt heat

I cut most of my wheel wells out and it helps. Especially when you get a cross wind. I can see the heat rising from my hood when I am idling...

    Steering play

I would like to try this also. WHen you say it can wreck the box, how far can you go until you damage it?

    Which color coolant?

I run dex-cool approved red coolant in mine with distilled h20. Never had a problem. The dex-cool is all you can put in an engine with an aluminum radiator I was told. Be Cool also recommends distilled with dex cool.

    Power steering hose(s) and route

I run a small cooler also mounted on the wheel well.

Make sure you don't bend the lines too much (12" circle bends) or you will end up cracking your line like my brother did at the Rubicon this past weekend. That sucked going back out the trail with no PS in a K5 Bl*zer.

Cool, those look good. Thanks for the ideas

    Rock Sliders... Favorites?

Just got back from the Rubicon... tough trail. Rock Sliders are a must I think. Besides the rock skis, does anyone know who sells some sliders that stick out from the truck a bit. These worked well on my brother's truck and wanted to see if anyone had some contacts. Thanks

How do you seal off the dipstick tube hole?

Well I drove it down there yesterday, I think I may have lost a drop or two of oil, but not like before. There is some oil taht does come out of the dipstick tube now but it was very light. It sounds like a gasket was never installed back into the pan where the hole is so this is causing it to...

    Jeff's Bronco Graveyard Shiping?

Yeah it takes a while and I thought it was very expensive. I got my hood scoop for less from Wild Horses and had to pay tax in CA! Go figure.

How do you seal off the dipstick tube hole?

Yeah I just got off the phone with him. He explained that is needs to be vacumed out with the pcv valve to a vacuum port and then air comes in from the breather I have. That is how I have it now and it seems to be leaking a lot less. He mentioned that the dipstick hole does not have the...

How do you seal off the dipstick tube hole?

The dipstick is one that just drops in on the side. It does not screw in. This is the 3rd motor in the truck so it is not orginal anything.

As far as the vacuum, not sure. I do not understand the pressue thing either. I know the rear mains always leak, my old one did too but this is...
