    Ripped offed on Ebay...

If I understand correctly you purchased an eb on ebay and after taking delivery realized something was wrong and obtained a refund because you used your credit card. You have tried for a year to locate the individual you purchased the vehicle from but have been unable. I would first try to...

4 BBL carbed intake to EFI

The "why" is not the same for everybody. I understand that Ford created an EFI which is about the best that can be obtained; however, if he wants to make his own EFI then so be it. I wouldn't, but that is only because I have built things before which could have been purchased. The only thing...

C4 Engagement Trouble (HELP BwoncoHowie or other C4 gurus)

I do not wish to be the bearer of terrible news nor is it easy to determine what is wrong on-line. I have found that when a tranny's fluid smells "cooked" the tranny usually is cooked. Not the worst thing in the world if you have a garage to work in you can rebuild it but I would recommend...

    A/C questions

First, you need to put a system together which all the components used the same gas. The gas to choose is R-134A because of it's availability and it is much less expensive than R-12. If your under dash unit is for R-12 don't panic, you just need to change the orifice tube. You will need high and...

Explorer Balancer - please provide some sanity

I do not believe the exploder balancer is meant to be taken apart and put back together. As far as using the balancer on the 302 I would say no. There is a small length difference in the balancers and the crank pulleys. I put v-belts on my 5.0 by cutting and welding a pulley which is a bit of a...

    Timing question?

oops! What I should have said is once the vacuum begins to fall retard the timing until you are at the highest vacuum point and then retard the timing until it is 1hg below the highest point. I need the vacation I am starting tomorrow.

    Timing question?

You can time by vacuum. With a vacuum gauge hooked up advance the engine timing and watch the vacuum rise and then it will begin to fall back off 1hg from the highest reading and you should be timed quite well for the altitude you are at. Email me if I did not explain the timing thing clearly.

    need 170 I6 help

need 170 I6 Hey old iron, my memory isn't the best but I seem to remember having to measure valve springs etc. I still have some of the shop manuals and will find the one which covers this in detail; however, I can not get the manual out until tomorrow in the afternoon. I haven't worked on one...

Speedo says 18 mph while parked?

says 18 mph while parked? There is not an adjustment, one can only figure your speedo has one of several problems. Does your speedo begin to climb from 18mph as soon as the vehicle starts moving? If so this would indicate the pointer on your speedo has moved from where it should be. If not then...

Auxillary Gas tank selector switch ?

gas tank selector switch I noticed you said you could not get gas to the carb after you rebuilt it. If the Bronco ran before let's start here. Remove the fuel line from the carb and place it securely in a container which will safely hold gas. Next turn on your electric pump or turn the engine...

    trying v-belt on 5.0L

v-bely on 5.0 I'll try the early 80's stuff. I am not funning fuel injection and would like to keep the mechanical pump which is in the way of the drivers side water outlet and p/s box combo. Do you know of a serpentine water pump which has the lower outlet on the passenger side like the EBs...
